Introducing Jill Kadota – District 17’s First remote Area Director

District 17 and specifically the Northern Division, is excited to welcome our first remote Area Director, Jill Kadota.

Jill is the Immediate Past President of Touch of Gold Toastmasters in Kalgoorlie and did an amazing job helping the club rebuild from 12 members back up to 21 members and achieving President’s Distinguished.

We are looking forward to having Jill’s help in supporting and growing Area N22, the Northern Division and ultimately, D17.

Jill was asked to share a few words about her Toastmasters journey and her plans as N22’s Area Director…

‘Since originally joining Toastmasters in 2014, then again in 2022, I have been committed to developing my communication and leadership skills while helping others build confidence and achieve their goals.

Throughout my Toastmasters experience, I have served in several leadership roles, including Secretary, Vice President Education, President and currently Vice President Public Relations. These roles have strengthened my skills in leadership, organisation, mentoring and community engagement while contributing to the success and growth of my club.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Toastmasters has been supporting members as they develop into confident speakers and leaders. I enjoy creating a welcoming environment where people feel encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate achievements, and continue learning.

In recognition of my commitment to Toastmasters, I have been appointed Remote Area Director for N22 for the 2026–2027 Toastmasters year. This role provides the opportunity to support clubs by encouraging collaboration and help clubs achieve success through strong leadership and member engagement.

Toastmasters has provided me with invaluable leadership experience, lifelong friendships, and opportunities to make a positive impact both within my club and the wider community. I remain passionate about promoting the Toastmasters mission and empowering others to discover their voice, develop their leadership potential, and realise that personal growth begins when we are willing to step outside our comfort zone.’
