D17 SMEDLEY DISTINGUISHED!
WOW!!!
What a way to Finish the year!!!
In last month’s Maali newsletter, you would have seen our article congratulating the 32 Distinguished clubs in District 17 on achieving Distinguished status.
A few days after the article was published, District 17 became a President’s Distinguished District!!!
And now we have another update.
Since then, one more club, Banksia Speakers, came back into good standing, and one more club, Presentation Masters was chartered.
With 36 clubs Distinguished, on the 8th of July District 17 achieved Smedley Distinguished status, the highest status possible, for the first time.
With so many districts around the world also conducting business late in July, District 17 ended up ranked 12th out of 128 districts. Pretty good work for a small District in Western Australia.
Our success was noticed by the International President of Toastmasters, Aletta Rochat, who sent us a personal message, which you can view here.
Congratulations to all the clubs which participated in March to Distinguished, and March to Distinguished Phase II.
Check out the Honour Roll for all clubs which achieved Distinguished, and the results of Phase II, where most of Tier 1 clubs achieved at least Distinguished, while many Tier 2 and Tier 3 clubs will be moving up a tier next year.
All were recognized and acknowledged at the Awards Gala Dinner. There will be a full article about that in the Maali News August Edition.
