Keynote Speaker

speaker

Gihan Perera is a business futurist, conference speaker, AI researcher, and author who shows you how to be fit for the future in a fast-changing world.

For more than 25 years, he has worked with organisations and leaders throughout Australia and the world, helping them to lead in uncertainty, act with clarity and confidence, and thrive in a fastchanging world.

He is the author of Disrupted, Disruption By Design, The Future of Leadership, and ten other books. Forbes magazine rated him the #5 social media influencer in the world (and #1 in Australia) in his area of expertise.

Fun fact: Gihan is also a past & influential member of St Georges Toastmasters.

Fit For The Future

In a world of constant change, interruption, and distraction, we need wise leaders and strong communicators more than ever before. But the rules for clear communication and leadership have changed. You might think the future is outside your control, but that’s not true. We can’t be future proof, but we can be future ready. Let’s explore how to leverage your strengths, understand how to engage hearts and minds now, and learn how to thrive in a fast-changing world. Come ready to think, laugh, learn, and leave with a game plan for your own communication and leadership future.

Has disruption – from employee burnout, hybrid work, AI, global uncertainty, and more – shaken up your world? Are you and your people looking for clear leadership in this time of massive change? Do you want to be more confident in chaos and uncertainty?

Tall(ish) Tales

In this entertaining segment, we’re challenging some of our proven Toastmasters to deliver speeches that are imaginative, exaggerated, and delightfully improbable. While it’s inspired by the official Toastmasters Tall Tales contest, this isn’t a competition, just a chance to have fun and showcase your storytelling skills.

A Look Back

Influential District 17 Toastmasters will take us through historic moments in Toastmasters International and District 17 history.

FAQs

Q: Is the venue accessible?
A: Please see HMT Accessibility page (click here) for detail. The theatre recommends that all patrons with special requirements state their needs at the time of booking tickets. To book tickets you can book at the venue box office or call (08) 6212 9292.

Q: Will food be provided?
In order to maximise the funds raised for the 2025 Convention, we have opted for a more streamlined approach to catering. Charcuterie and Cheese Platters can be pre-piad with your tickets or ordered closer to the event. A selection of nibbles can be purchased from the bar.

Q: What about seating arrangements?
A: Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We will have some reserved seating for special guests.

A: The venue is located at Downstairs at the Maj, Perth CBD. See their website  for tips on Parking and Transport (click here).
