Technology Toastmasters Demo Meeting – Empowering Tech Professionals Through Communication
On Wednesday, 24th September 2025, the inaugural Technology Toastmasters demo meeting took place at The Vault @ Riff, 45 St Georges Terrace, marking an exciting new chapter for professionals in Perth’s tech community.
This initiative was spearheaded by Area Director for C3, Guru Gupta, in collaboration with Douglas Robertson, a dedicated member of City of Perth Toastmasters. The pair recognised a unique opportunity to bring the proven benefits of Toastmasters to an existing community of tech professionals—including data analysts, Power BI enthusiasts and others passionate about technology and data storytelling.
The event was strongly supported by members from various Toastmasters clubs across the district, including the District Trio, whose presence underscored the importance of collaboration and mentorship in building new clubs. Their encouragement and participation contributed to the vibrant energy and success of the evening.
Guru and Douglas’ vision was to empower individuals in the tech sector with essential soft skills that complement their technical expertise. Many professionals in this field are highly skilled in data and analytics but often seek to strengthen their communication, leadership and presentation abilities—skills that are vital for career growth and effective teamwork.
Through the Toastmasters program, members of this new group can expect to develop in key areas such as:

Meetings will continue on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 5.30pm at The Vault @ Riff, 45 St Georges Terrace.
In addition to the normal meetings, there will be another Open House meeting on Friday 24th October 2025 at 5.30pm at The Vault @ Riff, 45 St Georges Terrace.
