MeetUp Launch
Meetup is a versatile online platform designed to bring people together through local in-person and virtual events, catering to a wide range of interests and professional pursuits. Today, Meetup has an impressive footprint with approximately 225,000 groups spanning across 180 countries. These groups organize structured events, often held weekly or monthly at local venues, predominantly in the evenings or on weekends to accommodate diverse schedules.
Whether through face-to-face meetings or virtual gatherings, Meetup continues to foster vibrant communities, enabling people to form meaningful connections and pursue shared interests in an increasingly interconnected world.
District 17 has joined the MeetUp platform by forming Perth Toastmasters MeetUp group. It’s designed to:
- Raise awareness of all Toastmasters Clubs in WA
- Provide an option for any club to list its regular meetings and special events
- Make it easier for new people to find our clubs and RSVP to our meetings
It’s easy for any D17 club to be a part of Perth Toastmasters MeetUp group and it’s FREE– just follow the three simple steps on our MeetUp Club Registration page:
- Join MeetUp
- Apply to our D17 MeetUp Coordinator to be a group organiser for your club
- Start creating your club events
Creating a club event can be done in 10-15mins and when you set recurring on, its advertising your club events week after week. Invest as little as 15-20mins a week to tweak your next meeting event, respond to people who RSVP to your events and see what other clubs are doing so you can enhance your own meeting promotion.

When you contact the MeetUp Coordinator to become an event organiser you’ll be given 1:1 training to set up your club meeting. A workshop for all VPPRs will be advertised soon!
