Club Highlights and Reminders
Shout out to these clubs for their recent achievements…
Willetton Toastmasters celebrated their 500th meeting on July 15, 2024, with a party at their Monday meeting that brought together past and current members, friends, and visitors.
The evening was filled with warmth, reflection, and inspiration, set against a backdrop of balloons, photos, and a lively slideshow of club memories.
The event commenced with an engaging Table Topics session, where members confidently shared their journey of developing speaking skills with the club. What once seemed impossible is now a proud achievement for many!

A panel discussion featuring seasoned Toastmasters was like flipping through a captivating storybook, offering a delightful mix of stories, challenges and triumphs through the years.
Division Leaders presented tributes and an anniversary certificate to the club.
To commemorate this special occasion, the club created a time capsule filled with memories and inspirations from attendees. Sealed by a selection of newer and experienced members along with club officers, this capsule will be a treasure trove of history to be opened at the club’s 1000th meeting!

The celebration continued with a tantalizing buffet and cutting of a cake, showcasing the true Willetton community spirit. Raffle winners took home fantastic goodie bags filled with Toastmasters 100th anniversary souvenirs and door prizes. Everyone left with a commemorative bookmark and plenty of great memories.
Willetton Toastmasters Club meets weekly at the Rostrata Family Centre, Willetton, from 7 pm. Whether you are a seasoned speaker or a nervous beginner, join us as a guest and experience firsthand the vibrant, supportive environment we offer!

On Friday 26 August, more than 50 current and past members of St George's celebrated a momentous milestone - the club's 38th Anniversary!
Murray Rogers, the past president, highlighted the tremendous growth of the club from 31 members to an incredible 42 members, now the largest club in WA. Maree Pickens, a member of 21 years and current D17 Club Growth Director, delivered an inspiring Toast reminding members that “we've not only honed our skills but uplifted each other”. Bill Milburn, a much-loved past member, delivered one of his more famous humorous speeches about a showdown with a rooster – it was hilarious!
Then it was time for the awards. For dedication, dynamic vision and outstanding leadership, the Bryan Natta Club Person of 2024 Award was awarded to Murray Rogers - congratulations Murray, Bryan would be so proud!
For exceptional contributions as a speaker, evaluator and to club growth the Roger McMillen Contributor Award was awarded to Phillippa Henderson - congratulations Phillippa, well deserved recognition for always stepping up!

Durack - Twenty-five years—a quarter of a century—is a remarkable milestone!
This significant span of time has been filled with countless memories, milestones, and incredible achievements. Durack Toastmasters, you are truly amazing, and so are the dedicated members who make up our distinguished club.

Since our inception, we have been recognized as a Club of Distinction for all 25 years, thanks to the solid foundation laid by our founding member, Gil Alexander. The principles of "observe, listen, participate, evaluate, and own the stage" have consistently guided us, fostering tremendous self-development and growth among our members.

Our contributions extend beyond club meetings. We have supported the district with sponsorships for various causes, upheld the Speechcraft program, and diligently followed the Toastmasters Programs. This commitment has produced speech contest winners, set high standards in evaluation, and helped members achieve Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) levels.
Our legacy of service and dedication is unrivalled, thanks to countless members who have poured their hearts into making our club exemplary. Recently, many of these devoted individuals gathered for a grand celebration, reliving shared memories and envisioning a bright future.
Here’s to Durack Toastmasters: 25 years strong and poised for even greater heights!
