Amazing TM Pentathlon

Following the success of “Go for Gold” we are continuing our Olympic themed club growth incentive program with the launch of the “Amazing Toastmasters Pentathlon”. All clubs are automatically enrolled BUT to get an easy 10 points just submit your club photo per the instructions here.
We’re raising the bar to stretch our clubs and our District a little higher to help achieve our goals in the District and Distinguished Club Programs with the following Pentathlon events:
- Keeping – Archery – Nailing membership targets by getting existing members to renew
- Leading – Swimming – Taking charge and leading your club to success
- Learning – Cycling – Continuously improving and acquiring new skills & knowledge
- Loving – Running – Fostering a positive and supportive environment within the club
- Growing – Pole Vaulting – Raising the bar to build clubs in new communities and companies
To see all the details for each event, the points to be earned and where your club is on the leaderboard visit Amazing Toastmasters Pentathlon! Remember, this time around your club is competing against its peers in similar club size. Check out which tier your club is in in the Club Tier List.

Highlights so far:
We’ve already seen your efforts in three of the above events and almost all clubs are starting to earn points in their respective Tiers:
Keeping – what an amazing effort all clubs have made in renewing their members with almost every club getting the minimum 8 members and many clubs many more. Special shoutout to St Georges for being charter strength AND renewing EVERY member (42, the largest club in D17). They have won the bonus BULLSEYE surprise prize of 250 points!!
Also 23 clubs had one or more members renew for 12months, a total of 103 people. It’s not too late to get more of your members to pay their renewals to continue their membership and even better if they renew for 12months – we’re counting ALL renewals up until Dec 7 so keep firing those bows to your target!
Learning – there’s been an uptick in Pathway award submissions since we launched the campaign. VPE’s, remind your members to get any pending awards submitted for your approval by 8 Oct before the Basecamp outage commences. Members can still complete their projects during the outage but no award submissions will be possible until after 25 Oct when Basecamp should be back online in the new system! Then it’s time to jump back on the bike and pump away to get lots of Pathway awards in before Dec 7.
Loving – We’ve seen a big jump in new members being signed up, some of whom are past members who’ve missed being with their Toastmasters family! More than 40 new members have joined 23 different clubs since Sept 1 – FANTASTIC! With the increase in guest visits it promises to be many, many more across even more clubs. Just keep cheering your guests on and welcome them as new members as you run hard towards Dec 7.
Leading and Growing activities will be launching soon as we finalise our plans. You and your clubs can warm-up for these events by:
- making sure all officer positions are filled now that some vacancies have arisen after the member renewals. Mark Sat 23 Nov and Sat 7 Dec in your calendars as the two options for attending Round 2 of Club Officer Training.
- start collecting names of people you know at large companies or community organisations that you can invite to our inaugural Corporate Forum. We’re in negotiations to finalise our International guest speaker so we can lock in the date.

Just two weeks into the Amazing Toastmasters Pentathlon and we’ve seen you’re putting in an Olympic effort! Keep it up – we can’t wait to see what you can achieve in October…
