be the spark

As we celebrate Toastmasters' 100th year, we invite you to join members around the world in making the Plus One Pledge! There is no better way to honour our shared legacy than by celebrating and showcasing the core of Toastmasters—the meeting experience.

Commit to inviting a guest to a club meeting by 7 December. By sharing the transformative benefits of Toastmasters with a friend or colleague, you may even inspire them to embark on their own journey toward more confident self-expression.

Pledge a guest photo

Step 1: Capture the moment: At your next club meeting, take a photo with your club banner, and a sign with a message showing your club commitment:

  • #+1 Pledge to celebrate 100 years
  • Our club pledges to bring XX guests
  • Our District will get XX guests overall

Step 2: Submit your club photo to join the D17 Toastmasters Pentathlon: Upload your club photo HERE before October 31st to earn 10 points

Step 3: Invite your guests: See this link for social media and email templates to share with your members to make it easier for them to invite guests and persuade them to come along to your next meeting.

Step 4: Get a selfie with each guest (optional) and have them give feedback on their attendance by filling out the Online Form using the link below. The QR code to this form can be added to your agenda or separate flyer.

Step 5: Add up how many guests visited your club over the campaign and send an email before COB Dec 7 to maree.pickens@toastmastersd17.org i.e. Chatterbox Toastmasters Club had 13 guests visit our club between 15 Sept and 7 Dec, 2024 during the Pentathlon campaign.

Note: Includes all guests who visit your club from 15 September to 7 December. Guests who register their guest visit online are eligible for a special 'guest prize' to be drawn at the end of the campaign. The total number of guests that attended a club in District 17 will be based on the total number of guests submitted in an email from each club by 7 Dec as per Step 5 above.  We are not going to track guest attendance based on submission of the guest form - that is for getting guest feedback and some fun photos!
