My amazing journey in Toastmasters began on July 25th, 2005. I joined City Of Perth Club, and a month later joined Victoria Quay. My productive and life enhancing pilgrimage had begun.

What attracted me to Toastmasters were its three elemental forces;
1) The communication and leadership tracks
2) The mentorship program
3) The fellowship

1) The opportunity to strengthen my communication skills and develop my leadership skills with the support of manuals and guidelines. This has been invaluable as it contrbuted to the success of my personal, social and professional development.

2) I am fortunate to have many mentors who have had a positive impact in my life – Ian & Maree Pickens, David and Glenis Nicholas, Alan Smith, Mark & Robyn Richards, Leonor Ragan, Mike Helm, Judith Allen, Ross Wilkinson and Jackie Perriman, and Phillip Bendeich. They have all contributed to my journey by instilling and demonstrating the four Toastmaster virtures; Respect For Others, Integrity, Commitment to Excellence and Service To The Membership. With an army of inspirational mentors to challenge and advise me, I knew I was on the right path. In being mentored, I have also been trained to be a mentor for others.

3) Fellowship is the bonus. The greatest gift Toastmasters has given me is the ability to have a positive impact on other people’s lives. The personal friendships that have developed within Toastmasters will last a lifetime.

Toastmasters has given me so much and it is now my turn to give back. My service as a District 17 Officer is the best way for me top give back to Toastmasters. Thank you Toastmasters. I am indebted to you.
