Someone Needs Your Invitation
Most Toastmasters members can trace their journey back to one simple moment — someone invited them.
For one District 17 member, that invitation came after a difficult presentation at work. Nervous and lacking confidence, they never imagined speaking in front of groups would become something they enjoyed. A colleague quietly suggested visiting Toastmasters “just once.”
That one invitation changed everything.
Over time, they found confidence, friendships, leadership opportunities and a supportive community that believed in them long before they believed in themselves. Today, they mentor others, lead meetings and encourage new guests walking through the door for the first time.
Stories like this happen across our clubs every year.
As we head toward June 30, District 17 is encouraging every member and every club to think about who in their world could benefit from Toastmasters. A friend, colleague, family member, neighbour or community contact may simply be waiting for someone to ask.
If each club welcomed just one new member, together we could strengthen our district with around 60 new voices — future speakers, leaders and friends.
Toastmasters often begins with something small:
“Would you like to come along with me?”
Someone needs your invitation.
Who will you invite?
