District 17 Open House: An Opportunity to Grow Together
Discover how you can collaborate, volunteer, promote the event and bring a guest.On Tuesday, 13 October 2026, District 17 will host an exciting Open House to showcase the Toastmasters experience. The event will welcome prospective members and help clubs grow across Western Australia.
A night to showcase Toastmasters
The District 17 Open House will give guests a chance to see what makes Toastmasters special. Members have the opportunity to bring a friend, colleague or family member who may be interested in developing their communication and leadership skills and get introduced to the wonderful Toastmasters world.
The evening will be a ticketed event and will combine networking, refreshments and a live demonstration of a Toastmasters meeting. Guests will see an Icebreaker speech, evaluations and Table Topics. There will also be a panel discussion and a keynote speaker.
The panel will explore questions that many new members ask. For example, how does Pathways work? What is Speechcraft? How can Toastmasters help with leadership? Can it fit into a busy life? Guests will also learn how they can join an existing club or help start a new one.
Working together
Planning is already underway. Members are working across marketing, program planning, guest experience, venue and logistics.
How can you help?
Most importantly, everyone in District 17 can play a part.
You can help by promoting the event through your club, inviting a guest or volunteering with the organising team. There are opportunities to help with marketing, speakers, guest registration, hospitality and event logistics.
