Canning Vale has 10 DCP Goals
The Distinguished Club Program sets the standard for Toastmaster Clubs. There are 10 DCP Goals, with a membership requirement.
All 10 DCP Goals is the Gold Standard.
Club Officer Training
The second round of Training is underway. The first session was on Saturday, December 5. Canning Vale had 5 Officers present. That completed their 10th Goal. One other club had 9 Goals – Victoria Quay – but their Officers are waiting till the February training sessions – so Canning Vale is undisputedly the first to achieve all 10 Goals.
Gold Medals?
The Olympic Games has popularised the Gold Medal idea. It rewards supreme excellence in the various Games contests. Besides the Games there are World Championships in Swimming, in Athletics, in Sailing and many other contests. Many young people are inspired to dedicate their lives to achieving their very best through their pursuit of these medals.
The DCP is important
The Distinguished Club Program is at the heart of Toastmaster Club success. Clubs like Canning Vale which are focussed on meeting the needs of their members and encouraging them to work through the Toastmasters success plan are a model for all of us. In 2014/15 there were 11 clubs which achieved the gold standard of Presidents Distinguished Club with all 10 goals and another 10 who achieved 9 goals. This year, besides Canning Vale, there are already several clubs who have met the preliminary requirements for success in the DCP. You can see the current group at Early Achievers 2015-16.
