Heritage Towns Turns 35: 35 Years of Toastmasters, Memories & Friendship
Thirty-five years of Toastmasters is worth celebrating—and Heritage Towns did exactly that with an informal gathering of current and past members, guests and District Officers at the Rose and Crown Hotel in Guildford on Sunday, 20 September.

The celebration was also a trip down memory lane.
The club began in July 1991 as Morning Star, with Monday morning meetings held at the Rose and Crown. When meetings later moved to evenings, the club became Guildford Stars. After relocating to Bassendean, another name change followed. Heritage Towns was chosen to reflect the historic Guildford–Bassendean area.
Helping celebrate this special milestone were fellow Toastmasters Karen Tregenza, a regular visitor to the club in the early 1990s as Area Governor, and Liz Fisher, a more recent supporter from neighbouring club Banyandah.

The club was also delighted to welcome Jo Parker, Northern Division Director, and Richard Yap, N24 Area Director.
And what do Toastmasters do at an informal get-together?
This time, there were no speeches and no toasts—just time to reconnect, reminisce with past members and enjoy the company of fellow Toastmasters.

The relaxed two-hour celebration ended perfectly with cake-cutting by Heritage Towns’ committee members.
Key takeaway: After 35 years, the names and venues may change, but the friendships and spirit of Toastmasters continue.
